The Job Controller plays a key role in coordinating and managing service jobs in the workshop. This position ensures that job orders are properly scheduled, assigned, and monitored for efficiency and timely completion. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, computer literate, and possesses strong delegation skills to maintain seamless operations and optimal productivity in the service department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Job Scheduling and Assignment:
- Organize and distribute job orders to technicians based on skill set and workload.
- Monitor progress of ongoing jobs and reassign tasks as necessary to ensure deadlines are met.
- System Management:
- Input and track job orders using the dealership’s service management system.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and ensure proper documentation is completed.
- Workflow Coordination:
- Coordinate with Service Advisors and Parts Department to ensure all materials and information are available for each job.
- Assist in resolving workflow bottlenecks and technical delays.
- Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitor technician productivity and job completion times.
- Generate reports on job status and technician efficiency for management review.
- Team Support and Delegation:
- Delegate tasks effectively to maintain service bay efficiency.
- Communicate clearly with technicians and service staff to ensure smooth operations.
